NEO: A Second Life for Lagoon and BENETEAU Yachts

Keep the yacht you love, and update what no longer meets your needs. That is the idea behind NEO, a professional yacht refit programme backed by the original manufacturer. On 8 September 2026 at the Cannes Yachting Festival, Groupe Beneteau announced its expansion from two Lagoon models to eight models across Lagoon, BENETEAU and Jeanneau.

More than a cosmetic refresh

Lagoon NEO starts with a pre-transport inspection followed by a shipyard audit covering nearly 300 checkpoints, including structure, onboard systems, deck and rigging. The yacht’s condition determines the work required.

The Lagoon 620 NEO project illustrates the possibilities: lithium batteries, quiet air conditioning operation, UV water treatment and Seanapps connectivity. These are features of that particular refit, not a standard equipment list for every yacht entering NEO.

Lagoon 620: a completed example

The first Lagoon 620 NEO was completed in September 2024. Groupe Beneteau reports that 70% of materials were reused on this project. The work included equipment documentation and sea trials. That figure relates to this yacht; it is not a guaranteed result for every future refit.

What to confirm before booking

Lagoon NEO currently provides a 24-month warranty on refit parts and labour, with supplier warranties for new equipment. This is not an automatic whole-yacht warranty. Lagoon’s terms should not be assumed to apply to BENETEAU without separate confirmation.

The expansion announcement does not give the complete eight-model list, prices or completion times. Eligibility and terms must be checked for the individual yacht.

Owners can start by gathering the model, build year, yacht location and maintenance history. Buyers of pre-owned yachts should request a quotation, a record of completed work, warranty terms and sea-trial results. Those documents help establish what has actually been renewed and what remains original.
