New from BENETEAU: First 36 Spirit, Swift Trawler 49 and Flyer 30

BENETEAU has outlined its plans for the 2026–2027 season: First 36 Spirit, Swift Trawler 49 and Flyer 30. Three models for different ways of enjoying the water: sailing, motor cruising and dayboating. All three feature in Groupe Beneteau’s official announcement issued from the Cannes Yachting Festival on 8 September. Here is what has been confirmed—and what is still to come.

First 36 Spirit: lighter, simpler sailing

This new planing cruiser puts low weight and straightforward handling first. Its development team brings together Samuel Manuard, Lorenzo Argento, SITO, Pure Design & Engineering, Seascape and BENETEAU. Removable bench extensions and a table turn the cockpit into a relaxed cruising space.

According to PressMare’s report of 9 September, the First 36 Spirit world premiere is scheduled for boot Düsseldorf in January 2027. The Cannes announcement therefore introduces the model ahead of that debut.

Swift Trawler 49: a new model on the cruising horizon

Swift Trawler 49 is officially included in BENETEAU’s motor-yacht renewal programme for the 2026–2027 season. For now, it remains an announcement: the public manufacturer materials checked for this article do not yet provide a dedicated technical page, confirmed dimensions, engines, layouts, pricing or delivery dates.

If a Swift Trawler is on your shortlist for future cruising, the 49 is a model to watch. It is too early, however, to compare its range or cabin accommodation with other yachts.

Flyer 30: a first look at the new dayboat

The same official announcement identifies Flyer 30 as part of BENETEAU’s development in dayboating, particularly in North America. The press centre has already released an initial rendering.

The image shows bow seating, an aft bench and twin outboard engines. This deck arrangement suggests a boat designed for outings and time with friends. Exact dimensions, approved engine power, passenger capacity and production specifications have not yet been disclosed in the official materials reviewed.

Which direction suits your plans?

First 36 Spirit will appeal to sailors looking for an engaging sailing experience. Swift Trawler 49 is one to follow for prospective motor-cruiser owners, while Flyer 30 speaks to fans of open boats and day trips. An announcement does not mean that a completed boat is available from stock.
