It replaces the popular Oceanis 40.1, but it’s not just an update to the previous model. Beneteau has completely redesigned the cockpit, the helm station, the interior, and the layout options.

A cockpit where you’d want to spend the whole day

One of the main features of the Beneteau Oceanis 42 is the redesigned stern layout.

At anchor, the stern can be opened up, turning the swim platform into an extension of the cockpit. This is convenient for swimming, relaxing by the water, and boarding the tender. During a voyage, the stern area can be enclosed with additional seats. This makes the cockpit more sheltered and provides extra seating next to the helmsman.

Both helm stations are equipped with comfortable seats with backrests and ergonomic consoles. The main controls are within easy reach, making it easier to navigate the yacht both under sail and when maneuvering in the marina.

Designed not only for leisure, but also for real sailing

The Oceanis 42’s hull was designed by Marc Lombard Yacht Design. For this new model, Beneteau has increased the sail area and mast height. This gives the yacht greater sailing potential, while the Oceanis 42 remains a cruising yacht focused on comfortable and intuitive handling.

You can choose a standard mast with a sail furling system, classic rigging, or a sportier Performance configuration. As a result, the same Oceanis 42 can be customized for both leisurely family cruises and for owners who prioritize speed and the feel of the yacht under sail.

A spacious and bright interior

Nauta Design is responsible for the interior of the Beneteau Oceanis 42. The interior features plenty of natural light, large side windows, and light oak-style finishes.

The living room is spacious but free of unnecessary decorative details. It easily accommodates the whole family or a group of friends. It features a separate, fully equipped workspace, bookshelves, and plenty of well-designed storage spaces.

Three textile options are available for the interior: Ivory, Sunset, and Pacific.

A kitchen that’s easy to use at sea

On the Oceanis 42, you can choose between two fundamentally different galley options.

The L-shaped galley is located near the gangway. This layout is convenient when moving around the boat: the cook has good footing even when the boat is listing, and the galley itself is right next to the cockpit. It features two large sinks, plenty of storage space, and up to 215 liters of refrigerator space.

The second option features a linear kitchen with a large countertop. It is better suited for those who want to maximize the open space in the interior.

2 to 4 cabins

One of the Oceanis 42’s strengths is the ability to customize the layout to suit the yacht’s actual use.

There are five options available: 2 cabins and 1 bathroom; 3 cabins and 1 bathroom; 3 cabins and 2 bathrooms; 3 cabins and 3 bathrooms; as well as a charter version with 4 cabins and 2 bathrooms.

For private owners, the two- and three-cabin configurations are particularly appealing. In these layouts, the owner’s forward cabin features a 160-centimeter-wide double bed with access from both sides.

With so many options available, the Oceanis 42 can be ordered as a spacious yacht for a couple, a family cruiser, or a model for the charter business.

Controlling a yacht from a smartphone

The Oceanis 42 is compatible with the Seanapps system. Using a smartphone, the owner can check the battery status, fuel and water levels, monitor maintenance, and view information about the yacht’s usage.

This is especially convenient if the yacht spends most of its time in the marina without its owner.
